The Lync team released some new stuff last week:
Two new tools:
Lync Server 2010 Capacity Calculator, a spreadsheet for calculating a user’s hardware requirements based on information about users and traffic at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212657
Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool, can be used to prepare, define and validate performance targets of user scenarios offered by on-premise Lync Server 2010 deployment. Find this tool at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212599
New documentation includes:
Planning for Metropolitan Site Resiliency, Deploying Lync in a multiple forest environment, and Online documentation for the Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool. A Word version is also included in the tool set up.
A correction regarding deployment of Edge servers as Domin members is also there. Recently, deploying Edge servers as domain members was not suppoerted. Now, it is supported, yet – not recommended.
