New Lync 2010 Tools and Documentation available

The Lync team released some new stuff last week:

Two new tools:

Lync Server 2010 Capacity Calculator, a spreadsheet for calculating a user’s hardware requirements based on information about users and traffic at
Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool, can be used to prepare, define and validate performance targets of user scenarios offered by on-premise Lync Server 2010 deployment. Find this tool at

New documentation includes:

Planning for Metropolitan Site Resiliency, Deploying Lync in a multiple forest environment, and Online documentation for the Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool. A Word version is also included in the tool set up.

A correction regarding deployment of Edge servers as Domin members is also there. Recently, deploying Edge servers as domain members was not suppoerted. Now, it is supported, yet – not recommended.
